PLAINS YOUTH INTERACTION SUMMIT July 2009
Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota

40 kids from inner city Fort Worth and Houston, Texas & the rural Oglala Lakota Indian Reservation will meet for 4 days of outdoor active leadership development, prairie restoration work, friendship, fun and healthy food.

Please help build new Ecological Health leaders for today and tomorrow.

My name is Lorenzo Wilborn Jr., Youth Director for the Great Plains Restoration Council (GPRC) and we need your assistance. We have another endangered species that requires your attention. It is our Youth! GPRC is committed to fostering leadership in youth who have been disregarded or labeled as “at risk,” whether it is due to socio-economic background, health issues or otherwise. We provide a “safe” place that offers guidance, nurturing and mentorship through active, good hard work outside. Our innovative, award-winning Plains Youth InterACTION program helps endangered youth protect the health of themselves and endangered wild nature at the same time.

The 2009 Plains Youth InterACTION Summit is quickly approaching!

This will be a lifetime event for many GPRC youth, especially those who have never left the city! Youth will engage in restoration work on the GPRC/WRC 4600 acre Oglala Prairie Preserve in the Badlands, Ecological Health trainings and workshops, familiarization with real Native American culture; hike to a sacred site in the Black Hills; and share progress on each youth team’s work in the city or the reservation over the past year.

Please sponsor one or more children today! Please get together with your family, friends, co-workers and associates to sponsor one or more children. All contributions are 100% tax-deductible. GPRC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Thank you very much!
